Whether you live in Western North Carolina or are coming to Asheville from farther away, Hidden River provides a great setting for your wedding. Asheville, a mid-sized, very eclectic southern city, has much to offer its visitors. From the grand Biltmore Estate, to the Blue Ridge Parkway, to fine dining in a truly remarkable downtown that is filled with historic architecture, you can’t go wrong. By offering on-site accommodations at a very affordable rate, clients have the chance to have a true gathering of family and friends for more than just a few hours of your wedding.
At Hidden River, we seek to accommodate both smaller and larger weddings, elopements and commitment ceremonies. For all event types, we offer a basic package that includes everything you need for your event, in terms of infrastructure, and a choice of vendors for all additional items, from a list of Select Vendors who offer us reasonable and exception products and services. most everything you need for your event with other amenities that can be added as well.
With accommodations for up to 52 guests on our property and numerous quality hotels just 1.4 miles from Hidden River at Exit #55 on I-40, clients can have a great time with their friends, without being rushed. Clients who use our accommodations as well as our Ceremony and Reception sites, can have on-site cookouts, time on the river and by our pond, hiking on the nearly 25 miles of hiking trails that are adjacent to our property, etc. We are fortunate to be located in one of the prettiest valleys in the region, preserved in large part because of the 114 year history of our neighbor, Warren Wilson College, with its 1100 acres of land, 500+ of which contain pastoral views of lovely valley farmland and over 25 miles of hiking trails, accessible from Hidden River.
Asheville, Black Mountain and Western North Carolina in general offer great activities: Consider a day of canoeing or rafting with the Nantahala Outdoor Center or a tour of the Biltmore Estate or a leisurely 4-6 hour ride and/or raft trip on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Drive up to Mt. Mitchell State Park, just 45 minutes from Hidden River, to visit the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. There are plenty of great mountain golf courses in the region and, pretty soon, folks will be able to play at Tiger Woods’ only North American golf course, just five minutes from Hidden River at The Cliffs at High Carolina. Downtown shops at the Grove Arcade and at other locations in the city have amazing art and dining such as Tupelo Honey Café, and the Blue Ridge Parkway has regional arts and crafts at the Folk Art Center of the Southern Highlands. Some couples might wish to have their ceremony and reception with us and then stay on for their honeymoon at the Grove Park Inn, The Biltmore Estate or any of the numerous lovely B&B’s in downtown Asheville or Inns of Black Mountain. There are a lot of choices.
Whether you rent our facility for a day or for a weekend or more, our staff works diligently to craft an event that is suited to your personal taste while being faithfully elegant. From the food selections to the musicians we can offer, you’ll find there’s nothing “packaged” about our packages.
We are here to make your event feel truly your own!
