Hidden River Events

Hid­den River Events – a 17+ acre farm just 10 min­utes from down­town Asheville, North Car­olina – is per­fect for cou­ples who are plan­ning a des­ti­na­tion wed­ding and also for those who are local and seek a cer­e­mony and recep­tion site in the Asheville, North Car­olina region. The Knot: North Car­olina iden­ti­fied Hid­den River Events as one of the best out­door recep­tion sites in the state (March 2008 issue) and has given us it’s offi­cial “best of wed­dings” des­ig­na­tion for the 2012 year, voted on by couples.

Your Choice Of Scenic Locations

Hid­den River Events offers a choice of sev­eral lovely moun­tain wed­ding sites, includ­ing loca­tions right next to the Swan­nanoa river, on an island in a pond, in the peren­nial gar­den, or in the main field, with the amaz­ing Blue Ridge Moun­tains as a back­drop. Our prices are among the most com­pet­i­tive in the region.  Our sea­son for outdoor/tented events is from March 16 to Novem­ber 20.  We offer indoor events from Novem­ber 21 until March 31st, at one of our part­ner sites  Please inquire for spe­cific quotes for these indoor, win­ter wed­dings.  No mat­ter what time of year, we can accom­mo­date small events (2–20) as well as large wed­dings (up to 200+), small wed­dings and elope­ments, and, with our on-site hous­ing, des­ti­na­tion wed­dings are per­fect at Hid­den River.

Ser­vices

Our ser­vices include all of the infra­struc­ture, labor, and ven­dors you need for your wed­ding (though we do allow cou­ples to use out­side ven­dors).  Typ­i­cally, clients work with our Event Coor­di­na­tor to select from a short list of ven­dors who give us qual­ity and rea­son­able prod­ucts and ser­vices. For those who seek a largely out­door event, we have every­thing needed to make the event com­fort­able, rain or shine.

Site Rentals and Com­plete Wed­ding Pack­ages include:

• 4000 square feet of white, high peaked tent space on a con­crete pad (with side­walls and heat­ing, if needed)
• Heavy duty white rezin gar­den chairs
• Din­ing and serv­ing tables, cock­tail tables, full length white table linens
• Plates/utensils/glassware
• Horse drawn car­riage and driver
• Sound system/DJ
• Dance floor
• State-of-the light­ing system
• Ice chests
• Per­ma­nent bath facilities
• Fur­nished cater­ing tent
• On-site golf cart shut­tle for those with spe­cial needs
• Use of our 25 pas­sen­ger shut­tle bus for addi­tional guests at nearby hotels
• Event coor­di­na­tor

All Sat­ur­day pack­ages include hous­ing on-site for up to 54 peo­ple if clients are look­ing for North Car­olina moun­tain cabin wed­dings. Sun­day wed­dings can be with or with­out hous­ing and Fri­day events, as avail­able, are with­out hous­ing. Non-Saturday wed­dings, espe­cially week­day wed­dings, are espe­cially afford­able. Clients who seek an indoor event dur­ing the win­ter (Decem­ber through March) find that our prices are espe­cially competitive.

Hid­den River Philosophy

The busi­ness phi­los­o­phy of Hid­den River was born from the dream of its owner, Dr. Jeanne Som­mer, who is one of the most sought out wed­ding offi­ciants in North Car­olina. Dr. Som­mer has over 25 years expe­ri­ence as an offi­ciant and is also a pro­fes­sor of Reli­gious Stud­ies at nearby War­ren Wil­son Col­lege. She crafts cer­e­monies designed to reflect the faith and val­ues of the cou­ples, tra­di­tional or non-traditional; and the busi­ness prac­tices of Hid­den River are moti­vated by three pri­mary ideals:

1. Offer­ing wed­ding ser­vices in the region that keep costs rea­son­able and the focus of the cou­ples on what is most impor­tant: their relationship
2. The preser­va­tion of his­toric Swan­nanoa Val­ley farm land, one of the last open val­leys so close to the city
3. A busi­ness phi­los­o­phy of “Love Mul­ti­plies!” that prompts the giv­ing of a per­cent­age of the cost of each event to local charities.
